Principal System Architect RF SoC - TeraWave
About the role
This foundational role on our TeraWave team develops models and algorithms for Terawave custom silicon, supports ASIC and SW implementation, designs advanced digital multi-beam beamforming phased array systems, and works collaboratively with ASIC, RFIC, and software implementation teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop models and algorithm for Terawave Custom Silicon: packet processing, MAC, PHY, Radio Drive for lowest power consumption and highest performance
- Target Hardware and Software algorithms for FPGA and ASIC implementation
- Support the ASIC and SW implementation thru pre-silicon verification and post silicon productization
- Design advanced Digital multi-beam beamforming Phased array systems
- Architect and model optimized RF transceivers for the TeraWave system
- Drive block level RF and AMS specifications in collaboration with the RFIC designers
- Develop and model impairments compensation and system calibration methods for the Custom Silicon and Phased Array design
- Work collaboratively with ASIC, RFIC and Software implementation teams
- Work with the application team to bring up prototype pre-silicon and support all post-silicon to validate your architecture performance
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in RF systems design and development
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Experience with networking, modem MAC and PHY, DSP, RF and/or Mixed Signal Designs
- Experience with Matlab, System C, C/C++ or other System level tools
- Knowledge of DSP and communications systems including spread spectrum, forward error correction, and modulation types (OFDM, QPSK, QAM, PCM/FM, PAM)
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred
- Experience in full ASIC lifecycle (architecture, design, simulation, verification, validation, integration & test) preferred
- Experience with Software-Defined Radio Architectures, ADC/DAC, and/or DSPs preferred
- Experience mentoring early career engineers preferred
Skills

- Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

Base Pay Range For CA applicants is $269,175.00 - $376,843.95
WA applicants is $269,175.00 - $376,843.95
Schedule
This role is onsite in Bay Area-CA, San Diego-CA, Austin-TX or Kent-WA. It is approved for a temporary remote work exception while our local sites are being developed.
