About the Role
Principal System Administrator based in Tucson, AZ will collaborate and support critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means developing, implementing, and maintaining secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.
Responsibilities
- Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows environment supporting information systems.
- Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
- Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of basic to moderate scope and complexity, including integration of hardware and operating systems.
- Manage virtualized environments.
- Utilize experience with Windows Server internals, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and server replication methods.
- Utilize experience with hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption, and server management tools.
- Implement data backup and restore using industry best practices.
- Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
- Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
- Obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start date.
- Support 24x7 operational systems, occasionally requiring work beyond standard hours.
- Travel to other U.S. domestic locations as needed, up to 10% per year.
Requirements
- University degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Top Secret security clearance required prior to start date (U.S. citizenship required).
- Linux or Windows experience.
- Experience in one of the following: Active Directory, VMware, or networking administration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Tanzu, and Rancher.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
- DoDD 8140 / 8570 Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) and an Operating System Certification.
- Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF.
- Experience with networking administration, data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies.
- Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
- Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange.
- High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD.
