Principal System Administrator
About the role
The Principal System Administrator will support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. They will manage IT system infrastructure and processes, providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution.
Responsibilities
- Supports implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
- Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves problems at Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels
- Manages daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
- Assists users in accessing and using IT systems
- Optimizes system operations and resource utilization
- Performs system capacity analysis and planning
- Provides in-depth trouble-shooting and analysis for escalated tickets
- Supports the dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved in the resolution process
- Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems, installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity, and configures network components, implementing enhancements to improve reliability and performance
- Supports the design of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware
- Analyzes and resolves complex problems related to server hardware, applications, and software integration
Requirements
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- Fifteen (15) years experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Five (5) years of additional System Administrator experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
- Experience with system security, configuration, and reporting tools
- Experience with ELK, Tripwire, VMware, RedHat SELinux security tool suite

Pay
Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 annually
