Responsibilities

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Troubleshoot technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity, including hardware and operating-system integration.
• Execute actions as directed by senior staff and project management.
• Collaborate across teams and align with leadership expectations.
• Design, develop, and deploy containers.
• Participate in all phases of engineering software installation and support, with emphasis on testing, documentation, and acceptance.
• Manage ESXi, VCenter, and Microsoft Windows domains.
• Administer Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, AD, server replication).
• Configure hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption, and server management tools.
• Perform data backup and restore using industry best practices.
• Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
• Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
• Obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start date.
• Support 24×7 operational systems, occasionally requiring work beyond standard hours.
• Travel to other U.S. domestic locations up to 10% per year as business needs dictate.

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (Secret) required prior to start date; ability to obtain interim clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship (only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance).
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deploying Windows workstations and migrating end-user data.
• Cloning techniques.
• Automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
• Operating-system concepts and implementations.
• Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support (user and computer objects, Group Policy).
• Network services related to Microsoft Windows environment (DC, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
• Supporting desktop/workstation hardware.
• Experience with an IT incident/service request system.

Pay

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD – 181,700 USD. The range is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
