Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist

This position is located in one of the following facilities: Rolling Meadows, IL, San Diego, CA, Redondo Beach, CA, or Baltimore, MD. U.S. Citizenship is required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance. Travel is required, up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Manage on-time requisition release, purchase order placements, and PO delivery dates to maintain program schedule.
• Manage material budget for contract requirements.
• Support baselining and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) requirements.
• Manage, report, and forecast material cost and performance of assigned program(s) using tools such as Cognos, CMEs, and IPRS.
• Identify and manage program risks and opportunities as they pertain to material requirements.
• Analyze lead times and identify critical path procurements.
• Monitor and address supplier capacity and/or production issues.
• Maintain strong business acumen and ability to operate in a fast-paced production environment with leading-edge technology suppliers.
• Define and develop material strategy.
• Assess supply resources; aggregate and prioritize demand requirements; plan inventory, distribution requirements, production, material, and rough-cut capacity for all products.
• Participate in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning, product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management, and product-line management.
• Analyze and aggregate supply/demand requirements.
• Analyze purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
• Plan inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements.
• Assess rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements.
• Create or reduce supply requirements based on inventory adjustments.
• Participate in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins and existing product line phase-outs.
• Interface with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital, and other areas as needed.
• Create and release requisitions.
• Receive and review requirements for non-standard parts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain, contracts, business, and/or related field OR Master's degree and minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain, contracts, business, and/or related field.
• Experience with SAP or any ERP system.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in Supply Chain, Business or Operations, or Financial Planning.
• Experience in Earned Value Management Systems.
• Experience in Federal and Defense contracting requirements including ITAR, DOS licenses, FAR, and DFARS.

Pay

Primary level salary range: $89,900.00 - $141,200.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
