Principal Structural Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Subject Matter Expert for the Structural Engineering of Advanced Manufacturing Facilities, including Semiconductor Manufacturing facilities and Data Centers. This position is designated as part-time telework and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.

Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts independent scope of work and technical specifications for Civil/Structural design on large Advanced Manufacturing and Data Center Facilities
• Leads the design, development, modification, and evaluation of Civil/Structural components and processes
• Reviews and approves key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, change orders, and bid summaries for the project
• Authors Departmental standards and design guides to perform structural engineering design of Advanced Manufacturing Facilities
• Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements
• Originates and checks complex Civil/Structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
• Develops conceptual designs for Civil/Structural engineering projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements
• Interviews client personnel to determine their needs, develops scope for cost estimates for services, and participates in proposal preparation and presentation
• Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and supports implementation and assists with performance reporting

Requirements

• Requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience

Skills

• Recognized as an advanced contributor with experience in the design and design supervision of advanced manufacturing facilities
• Considered subject matter expert within the structural engineering discipline
• Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
