Responsibilities

  • Support production activities for the Transition to Production Team.
  • Apply Industrial Engineering fundamentals (Production Intervals, Cycle Time, Takt Time, Standard Hour Content, Time Studies, EVMS, Continuous Improvement, Scheduling, Capacity Analysis, Facility Layouts).
  • Understand principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints).
  • Analyze manufacturing flows and their interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain.
  • Create Shop Operation Plans for production units and track daily shop floor performance.
  • Develop Recovery Schedules for the production floor.
  • Develop labor standards and perform work measurement; create standard hour content for new scope.
  • Conduct shop floor time studies on manufacturing and test activities.
  • Collaborate with functional teams to understand scheduling requirements at implementation sites.
  • Create detailed manufacturing waterfall schedules with setbacks to independent demands.
  • Utilize process improvement methodology (e.g., value stream mapping, employee engagement techniques, flow reduction).
  • Design and optimize Shop Floor/Facility Layouts.
  • Understand cost management principles (Earned Value, Milestone payments).
  • Conduct Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs) with Suppliers.
  • Engage and collaborate with various product teams and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements.
  • Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution.
  • Coordinate with larger teams at different site locations.
  • Create and present technical briefings for upper management and technical leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Research, Data Analytics, Systems Engineering, or related technical field with 5–8 years of relevant experience; 3–6 years with a Master's degree; or 1–4 years with a PhD.
  • Experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing operations, production planning, or proposal estimating in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing.
  • Experience developing bases of estimate, labor estimates, staffing plans, capacity models, or proposal inputs.
  • Strong Excel modeling, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing flow, production scheduling, capacity, and how shop floor execution interfaces with supply chain and quality.
  • Department of Defense (DoD) Secret (Interim) security clearance required at start.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance (Secret, Top Secret, etc.).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Aerospace and/or Defense Industry.
  • Experience working in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) phase of a program.
  • Knowledge of SAP, MES, AutoCad, and FlexSim (or other discrete simulation programs) tools and concepts.
  • Ability to create and automate Industrial Engineering performance metrics.
  • Experience with Project Management and manufacturing schedules.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Schedule

9/80 schedule: nine-hour days Monday through Thursday, with every other Friday off.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400 – $134,200.
Secondary Level Salary Range: $111,700 – $167,500.

Base salary offers consider scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
