Principal-Sr. Principal Dedicated Mission Partner Engineer (AHT)

About the role

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Engineer in support of DAF CLOUDworks at Eglin Air Force Base Hurlburt Field. The Dedicated Cloud Engineer will work directly with DAF CLOUDworks Mission Partner to ensure the rapid enablement of all required application functionality.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with DAF CLOUDworks Mission Partner to ensure the rapid enablement of all required application functionality.
• Focus on modifying and enhancing offerings to implement new requirements, enhance functionality, increase efficiency, or lower operating/deployment costs.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• A high school diploma with 9 years of relevant experience OR a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience OR a master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• An active Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI).
• Able to obtain IAT Level II certification per DoD 8570.01 such as CASP+ or Security+ within 60 days of start date.
• Working knowledge and/or familiarity with Cloud-based technologies (AWS Platform, Azure Platform, Google Cloud).
• Experience with microservice orchestration, with a heavy emphasis on Kubernetes.
• Experience with Kustomize and Helm.
• Experience with Linux.
• Experience with GitOps and CI/CD, with a heavy emphasis on Gitlab.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, ArgoCD).
• Experience with infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash).
• Strong understanding of application deployment strategies (blue/green, canary).

Qualifications

• Fundamental cloud certifications such as: AWS Platform (Cloud Practitioner or higher certification), Azure Platform (Azure Fundamentals or higher certification).
• Experience with advanced application and network troubleshooting, database administration, and PKI management.
• Experience with cloud providers, with an emphasis on AWS services.
• Experience with Agile Methodologies.
• Experience with various forms of automation, including simple batch scripting, pipeline automation, Kubernetes operators, and infrastructure-as-code (including terraform and ansible).
• Experience with cloud-native application architectures.
• Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
• Experience with security scanning and vulnerability management tools.
• Experience with platform engineering concepts.
