Principal Specialist, Supplier Quality & Development -Machining (Remote)

Join Collins Aerospace, a leader in technologically advanced, intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. This role is part of our Operations team, focusing on supplier quality management and continuous improvement. You will work remotely, with up to 50% travel required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier qualification, certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes.
• Analyze quality data and recommend part- or supplier-specific corrective actions.
• Provide root cause analysis and problem-solving (Red-X & 8D) for escape management procedures.
• Develop corrective and preventive actions for systemic process and product design issues from suppliers.
• Manage supplier qualification, source inspection, material release processes, and Correction Action Boards/DQ Clinics.
• Support the UTC Supplier Gold program to ensure continuous improvement and sustainability.
• Review processes and metrics to ensure suppliers meet requirements for work transfer, process change management, Resourcing Gate, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.
• Adapt communication styles to persuade stakeholders and build effective cross-functional teamwork.

Requirements

• University degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in supply chain operations (monitoring, auditing, developing suppliers/operations) or equivalent.
• Strong background in machining.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executives and employees.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Quality Regulations, Quality Core Tools, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Practical Problem Solving.
• Familiarity with International Management System Standards, Authorities/Regulations/Standards, QMS, Auditing/Assessing, and Risk Management/Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma).

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The range reflects all experience levels, and RTX considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer.
