Principal Specialist, Program Cost Controls
About the role
The V-22 program has an immediate opening for a Financial Analyst in the Naval Power / Naval Airborne Solutions (NAS) business area. The position supports multiple variants of the V-22 Osprey aircraft and includes both internal and external earned value reporting. The program currently consists of CPFF (Cost Plus Fixed Fee) projects. The overall portfolio averages 130+ FTEs & $40-$45M in annual sales.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports, including detailed variance analysis.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), including variance analysis and the development of quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) and monthly Latest Revised Estimate (LRE).
- Aid in the monthly forecasting process for bookings, sales, earnings, and cash by coordinating updates with program stakeholders and maintaining data in RPlan.
- Provide financial data and analysis for monthly Program Management Reviews (PMRs) to support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, offering insights into the financial implications of business and program decisions.
- Respond to ad hoc financial analysis and data requests as needed.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and a minimum of 3 years of applicable experience.
- Experience supporting program cost and schedule management activities.
- Experience analyzing financial and program data to support problem resolution and informed decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including the use of Excel formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools to prepare financial reports, forecasts, and presentation materials.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.
What You Will Do

Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and maintaining data accuracy in financial planning and reporting activities.
- Experience preparing and delivering business communications, including written reports and verbal presentations to program or financial stakeholders.
- Experience using SAP/APEX, Excel Analysis for Office (AO), Power Query, or comparable enterprise financial and data analysis systems.
- Experience utilizing the Program Management (PMX) Tool Suite and EDIT+ for program financial tracking and reporting.
- Experience supporting financial planning and analysis activities, including tracking and reporting of Bookings, Sales, Earnings, and Cash.
- Experience in preparation and maintenance of Estimate at Completion (EAC) and the application of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) in accordance with contractual or organizational requirements.
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as applied to government contracting.
- Experience supporting financial or program activities within a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contracting environment.

Pay Range
The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.
