About the Role

Raytheon Missiles & Defense Andover has an opening for a Principal Specialist Materials Planning in our Materials Planning and Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) team. The successful candidate will manage a team of intermediate or experienced leads, executing day-to-day material availability requirements while creating and improving processes. This role aligns purchased material in support of manufacturing value streams through MRP, interfacing with Demand Planning, Production Control, Factory Operations, Program Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure efficient resource utilization based on a low volume, high mix demand profile for programs with unique material challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor important system health metrics and key performance indicators weekly and monthly.
  • Provide support to team and leadership for reporting and analysis as required by internal customers.
  • Execute day-to-day material availability requirements and improve processes.
  • Align purchased material with operational plans through MRP.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Foster a working environment that promotes safety, security, compliance, and quality while meeting customer requirements.
  • Develop credibility and influence through data analysis and fact-based collaboration.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or Finance.
  • Experience in Material and Inventory Control-type systems such as Kanban, SMI, or Continuous Flow Manufacturing.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MRP or SAP PRISM experience.
  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Experience working across multiple business areas and interfacing at all organizational levels.
  • Experience coordinating with various disciplines.
  • Experience with analysis, prioritizing, and working under pressure.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels, and RTX considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer.
