Principal Specialist, Contracts (Onsite)

This role is part of a team supporting a vast and complex portfolio of classified programs and key pursuits within our Advanced Technology (AT) / Advanced Effectors & Space (AE&S) Contracts organization. The successful candidate will provide strategic contracting leadership, guide complex proposal and negotiation activities, and serve as a trusted business partner to Program Leadership in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead RFP analysis, proposal development and reviews, negotiations, contract execution, and overall contract administration.
- Serve as a key contributor throughout pre-proposal planning, proposal development, negotiation, and program startup.
- Partner with Portfolio Directors, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Business/Estimating, and Supply Chain to ensure successful contract performance.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Identify, mitigate, and drive resolution of contractual issues.
- Ensure negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies and requirements.
- Advise senior leadership on contractual rights, obligations, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Interface with customers regarding correspondence, contract changes, and issue resolution.
Requirements
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (Secret) is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience.
- Experience in contracts management, program management, business management, finance, and/or supply chain.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Active Top-Secret clearance.
- Strong contractual acumen with knowledge of US Government Acquisition FAR and DFARS.
- Experience with OTAs, CRADAs, or other Intellectual Property agreements.
- Experience managing development contracts in a dynamic, competitive environment.
- Demonstrated responsiveness, time management, and organizational skills.

Pay
The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Schedule
This position is designated onsite at Raytheon Tucson. This role is eligible for relocation assistance and a sign-on bonus.
