About the role

The Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Specialist, Contracts within the Global PATRIOT® program area. This role will play an integral part as a Contracts professional within the Central Europe program team. The portfolio is predominately comprised of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) for the production, integration, technical assistance, and sustainment of the Patriot system to European partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide sound contract management to meet customer obligations, achieve company objectives, and comply with company policies
  • Analyze Requests for Proposal (RFP), development of proposals, proposal reviews and coordination, negotiation, contractual agreements, all phases of contracts execution, as well as contract administration
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and influence business decisions
  • Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying astute critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking creative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholders
  • Effectively manage contractual scope and terms and conditions to ensure work is performed to the overall contract scope
  • Review proposals to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements, represent a balanced risk/opportunity posture and deliver a financially sound business case while meeting company policies and standards
  • Identify, mitigate, and drive the resolution of contractual issues as they may arise
  • Provide guidance regarding contractual and business issues, advising management of contractual rights and obligations as well as possible mitigation of contractual/program risks
  • Some travel will be required to meet with the customer (approximately 2-4 times per year)

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience working with US Government contracts under Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and/or Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS)
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Contracts Administration, Program Management, Business Management, Finance, Legal, Subcontracts, Supply Chain and/or Procurement
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and develop effective, meaningful, and sustaining relationships with internal and external customers based on respect and trust
  • Demonstrated ability to shape results in support of goals, including ability to communicate and guide executive leadership
  • Experience in a position requiring multi-tasking and effective management of several competing priorities
  • Comfortable working in an environment with established company policies and procedures
  • Strong business acumen with financial understanding of the Raytheon business
  • Experience in maintaining compliance with Truthful Cost and Pricing (TINA) requirements

Pay

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Schedule

This position is classified as Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
