Job Summary
Redwire Space Missions has a current opportunity for a **Principal Spacecraft Assembly, Integration & Test Engineer** located at our facility in Littleton, CO. In this role you will interface with all functions of engineering as well as project management to aid in coordinating testing efforts for product development and project deliverables. You will provide support to prototyping and development teams to develop test setups for initial functionality demonstration and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Development and management of high-value spacecraft testing campaigns
- Identify testing methods, develop test plans, and design GSE for risk mitigation, requirements verification and/or validation, and prototype development and demonstration needs
- Develop assembly and test processes for sub-systems and vehicle integration testing
- Recommend and implement improvements to testing processes and methodologies
- Auxiliary system team in development of practical and measurable product requirements
- Maintain monitoring of test equipment and ensure facility capabilities to support testing activities are in place
- Lead and mentor a team of test engineers and technicians
- Analyze test results, and provide detailed reports to relevant stakeholders
- Work with design team to incorporate changes in system design to meet requirements
- Manage team training needs and ensure safety protocols and procedures are adhered to for all spacecraft testing campaigns
Ideal Experience
- B.S. Degree in Engineering or related discipline is required.
- Bachelor's (or equivalent) with a minimum of 12 years of experience, Master's with a minimum of 10 years of experience, or PhD with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
- Experience with Environmental Testing - capable of overseeing and processing data from environmental tests such as random vibration, static loading, thermal - vacuum testing, acoustic testing, and EMI/EMC testing
- Familiarity with Classical and Computational Analysis: Ability to utilize standard calculation techniques to interpret and validate FE predictions and testing results
- Experience leading efforts to capture new business by providing technical briefings and preparing BOEs for AI&T efforts
Desired Skills
- Design experience using CAD to design and fabricate mechanical systems and/or mechanisms
- Ability to design tests and develop special test equipment when necessary
- Experience with techniques for requirement generation and establishing appropriate verification criteria
- Adaptability: Comfortable performing a variety of tasks throughout the multiple engineering disciplines
- Effective collaborative and communications skills to interface with the product team, managers, and team lead
Benefits
Pay range $190,000 - $238,000/yr. How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy): Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
