Essential Job Functions

  • Perform precision mechanical and electrical assembly of spacecraft structures, mechanisms, harnesses, avionics, propulsion components, and payload hardware.
  • Integrate subsystems into spacecraft-level assemblies following controlled work instructions, engineering drawings, and travelers.
  • Conduct torqueing, staking, bonding, potting, crimping, soldering, and connector mating per aerospace standards.
  • Apply ESD, contamination control, and cleanroom protocols during hardware handling and assembly.
  • Experience with standard lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, thermocouples/temp sensors.
  • Experience with qualification and acceptance testing of hardware products.
  • Proven ability to execute test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Documentation of key activities such as test results, quality control and failures.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software integration problems.
  • Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.
  • Reports progress in meeting program requirements periodically.

Required Qualifications

  • 8 to 15 years of experience successfully conducting spacecraft AI&T operations on major spacecraft programs for a commercial entity.
  • Certified to IPC 620 with Space Addendum.
  • Experience conducting quality assurance for spacecraft AI&T.
  • Experience with environmental testing for harsh environments such as vibration, shock, TVAC, EMI/EMC.
  • Experience with test planning, automated test equipment, test procedures and data acquisition.
  • Experience with any of the following: Epsilon3, Labview, Matlab, Python.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with launch campaign planning, logistics and participation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate professionally in writing or verbally with all levels of personnel.
  • Experience with control of sensitive and confidential information as required by company standards.
  • Experience working in cleanroom environments.
  • Hold current or have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level.

Location and Travel Requirements

This position is based in Albuquerque, NM, with occasional travel to other company locations, partner facilities or launch sites as needed.
