About the Role

The Principal Solution Architect is accountable for business solution designs for key strategic initiatives, including developing architectures that span business, applications/integration, data, infrastructure, platform, and security. This role acts as the chief subject-matter expert (SME) architect for strategic initiatives within the PSS IT tower, leveraging enterprise experience to drive business outcomes. You will advise senior leadership on emerging technologies and the strategic technical vision while advancing the modernization journey for the Pharmacy Services Segment (PSS) IT in alignment with the Enterprise IT strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop architectures for large-scale distributed solutions across the full enterprise stack, with SME-level expertise in cloud design (GCP).
  • Apply Domain-Driven Design and integrate modern applications with legacy infrastructure using streaming platforms like Apache Kafka.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and technical teams to deliver solutions using enterprise development tools and methodologies (XP, Agile, DevSecOps, DataOps).
  • Solve business problems using AI/ML (including Gen AI) and Robotics Process Automation.
  • Facilitate adoption of cloud-native/cloud-first architectures.
  • Provide cradle-to-grave solution leadership, ensuring solutions adhere to Pharmacy Services Architecture Guiding Principles and maximize technology asset reuse.
  • Perform buy vs. build analysis based on qualitative and quantitative assessments to recommend optimal solutions.
  • Lead architecture design reviews, identify gaps, and recommend design changes.
  • Develop reference architectures and guide teams in assembling cloud-native applications for refactoring and optimization.
  • Rationalize the portfolio at the value pool level in collaboration with value pool leaders and the Portfolio Management Team.
  • Lead proofs-of-concept and technology deep-dives for partner technologies.
  • Advise and assist development teams with technical roadblocks, such as performance challenges.
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities to drive efficiencies, simplify solutions, and eliminate technical debt.
  • Mentor and upskill talent within the organization, demonstrating thought leadership and strong collaboration skills.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of design/development experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on GCP implementation experience.
  • SME-level technical skills in Agentic AI, application and integration architecture, security, and automation, with working knowledge of IT operations.
  • Proficiency in modern technology stacks (Cloud, Agentic AI, DevSecOps, Kafka) and hands-on coding skills to develop prototypes and POCs.
  • Experience with both SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience is mandatory.
  • Healthcare domain knowledge is highly desirable.
  • GCP Architect cloud certification is preferred.
