Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate object-oriented software applications using C#, C++, and Microsoft Visual Studio in a Windows Operating System (OS).
• Prioritize and handle multiple software engineering tasks concurrently.
• Troubleshoot software and test equipment instrumentation.
• Work in a multidisciplinary engineering team environment.
• Develop and derive requirements for software products.
• Lead and mentor junior software engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• Experience developing and integrating software applications using programming languages including C++, C#, Java, Python, or Visual Basic.
• Experience utilizing integrated development environments and debugging tools to troubleshoot software implementation.
• Prior experience with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with laboratory test instrumentation, electronics, and software (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters).
• Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware optimization techniques.
• Experience developing software drivers for computer hardware interfaces.
• Familiarity with common computer hardware interfaces and data protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, or RS-422.
• Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) for visualizing software architecture and design.
• Experience with software development lifecycles, such as Waterfall and Agile.
• Experience with Software Configuration Management principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Azure DevOps Server or GitHub.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience leading teams or projects in a technical capacity.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range provided is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
