Principal Software Engineer (RUST, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes)

Fidelity Digital Assets® is developing a full-service, enterprise-grade platform for storing, trading, and servicing digital assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

About the role

As a Principal Software Engineer on the DeFi Yield Gen Platform team, you’ll collaborate with engineers across Fidelity in a dynamic environment. You will work closely with technical leaders and architects to build a secure crypto yield generation platform using modern software development practices. As a senior team member, you will mentor engineers on best practices for software development.

Responsibilities

• Develop resilient services in RUST
• Design and implement microservice architecture
• Build reliable software that can withstand unreliable environments
• Create unit and integration tests
• Build and deploy applications using CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins
• Participate in code and design reviews, environment strategy, and build/deployment pipelines
• Mentor engineers on software development best practices
• Work in a small agile team with a strong user focus

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
• 8+ years of progressive experience in software engineering using programming languages like RUST
• Hands-on experience building resilient services in RUST
• Proficiency in databases and SQL
• Familiarity with L1 & L2 blockchains such as Ethereum (a plus)
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms and containerization technologies such as Docker (a plus)
• Experience with asynchronous workers and resilient messaging services such as SNS and SQS (a plus)

About the team

The DeFi Yield Gen Team is responsible for the frontend, backend services, and APIs that support the DeFi Yield Generation Platform. The team embraces an entrepreneurial culture and startup mindset while serving as one of the most innovative business units within Fidelity Investments.

Schedule

Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout. Some roles and locations currently require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $107,000–216,000 USD per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors. Base salary is only part of the total compensation package, which may also include bonus or other variable compensation for eligible roles.
