Principal Software Engineer Deployment (Onsite)

The Digital Engineering Methods, Process & Adoption Software Solution team drives digital transformation at Collins Aerospace. This role is ideal for a Principal Software Engineer with expertise in DevSecOps, AI, technical communication, and training facilitation to support our digital technology transformation. The position is onsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and requires U.S. citizenship.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of solution deployment training documentation.
- Facilitate solution training events for various adoption participants.
- Set up and own sandbox environments for technology incubation and development.
- Leverage AI to improve and innovate deployment activities (user guides, training, metrics, feedback, triage support, etc.).
- Work across teams and departments to enable rapid onboarding of Cert DevOps technology.
- Mentor, train, and onboard teammates.
- Act as a self-starter, managing multitasking and unplanned events.
- Use organizational skills to track tasks and effective communication to keep engineering peers, leadership, and customers updated.
- Apply problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork skills to support the team mission.
Requirements
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 5 years of experience.
- Practical experience in all phases of the software engineering product lifecycle, including certification.
- Experience with DevSecOps.
- Experience with: GitLab, Git, CMake, MinGW, LynxOS, Coverity, Artifactory, Docker, Vista.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience and/or knowledge of scripting languages: Python, Robot, Lava.
- Experience with networking protocols and IT infrastructure.
- Experience with AI technology for automation enhancements.
- Experience in detailed technical writing for solution adopters.
- Experience with Agile development lifecycle and best practices.

Pay
The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
This role is onsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and requires U.S. citizenship.
