Principal Software Engineer

About the role

Our client is hiring a Chief of Staff to serve as the CEO's right hand. The team is growing extremely fast and requires a force multiplier to take strategic projects and run them end-to-end across growth, fundraising, hiring, expansion, customer success, and operational infrastructure.

Strategic projects

• Across growth, fundraising, hiring, and expansion (acting as the CEO’s force multiplier)
• Customer onboarding, activation, and support for Helium’s enterprise customers
• Operational infrastructure: build the processes, automations, and tools for the next 1,000 customers
• Spec product improvements based on customer and team feedback
• Special projects (growth, events, recruiting) that are strategically important

Requirements

• Must-Have:
  • 1-4 years of experience in a fast-paced operations environment (startups, consulting, banking, or comparable fields)
  • Demonstrated track record of building things, launching projects, and shipping on tight timelines
  • Ability to bring order to chaos: an organized, structural thinker who can turn a messy problem into a plan
  • Top 1% communicator: clear, well-liked, and able to navigate tricky, high-conflict situations with tact
  • Low ego: willing to jump on bugs, take late-night support tickets, and do whatever it takes
• Nice-to-Have:
  • Background in a high-intensity environment (consulting, banking, startup, sports, or military)
  • Prior experience at an early-stage startup
  • AI-native daily usage: uses AI tools to 10x output while maintaining high standards
  • Strong academic signal (SAT/ACT score, top university)
