We are looking for a Principal Hardware SoC Architect to join our Tegra team and help define the next generation of SoCs at the forefront of accelerating machine learning, automotive, and high-performance computing applications.

About the role

In this position, you will define future aspects of our architectures that integrate NVIDIA GPUs, custom processors, and accelerators into a single chip. Your role will be cross-disciplinary, collaborating with software, ASIC design, verification, physical design, VLSI, and platform teams. Our SoC architects excel at pushing the state of the art while making optimal engineering trade-offs.

Responsibilities

  • Own the hardware architecture end-to-end lifecycle
  • Drive Architecture/Software/Hardware co-design and collaboration on feature sets
  • Perform performance, performance-per-watt, and performance-per-square-millimeter modeling or analysis and track through design (where applicable)
  • Author, review, and develop architecture and requirements specifications, including System C models (where applicable)
  • Develop and execute architectural validation plans
  • Review downstream specifications and verification plans in ASIC, software, and/or platform to ensure requirements are followed
  • Provide post-silicon production support, including silicon debug and customer documentation
  • Track industry standards and evaluate third-party IP
  • Patent novel parts of system architecture

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years of architecture, design, and/or verification experience
  • Meaningful industry expertise in SoC architecture definition, including:
    • Clocks, Resets, Automotive safety
    • Interconnects, Memory Controller, Boot, Virtualization
    • Power Management, Security, System Performance
    • IO technologies (PCIe, Camera Interfaces, etc.)
    • Multimedia accelerator pipelines, CPU/GPU coherency, Platform integration
  • Ability to communicate and solve issues at all levels of architecture definition, from micro-architecture to system level to software architecture
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to work as part of a team

Skills

  • Automotive Functional Safety expertise, including working experience with the ISO 26262 standard
  • System C or C++ development skills, or relevant programming experience
  • Inventions in one or more domains relevant to SoC architecture

Pay

Base salary range: $272,000 – $431,250 USD. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
