Senior Hardware SoC Architect
About the role
We are building the most advanced SoC's in the world for machine learning, automotive, and high-performance computing applications. In this position, you will define future aspects of our architectures that bring together NVIDIA GPUs, custom processors, and accelerators into a single chip. Your role will be cross-disciplinary, working with software, ASIC design, verification, physical design, VLSI, and platform teams.
As part of the Clock and Reset Architecture Team, you will focus on clocks, resets, and power management for SoCs. You will develop and improve architectural C-models, support teams that use them, and implement methodologies to enhance team efficiency and output quality.
Responsibilities
- Define clock and reset architecture based on IP and product requirements in collaboration with IP architects, designers, verification, physical design, software, DFT, security, automotive safety, and other teams.
- Capture requirements in architecture documents and drive their reviews.
- Develop and improve architectural C-models and support their users.
- Review upstream and downstream specifications and verification plans.
- Implement methodologies to improve team efficiency and the quality of outputs.
Requirements
- BS/MS in EE/CE (or equivalent experience) plus 3+ years of industry experience.
- Deep knowledge of clock generation, distribution, and microarchitecture.
- Good understanding of computer architecture.
- Firsthand knowledge of ASIC design, verification, and implementation flows.
- Strong C++/SystemC experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation skills to build consensus.
- Expert analytical and independent problem-solving skills.
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as Perl or Python.
- Experience with architectural methodology, flows, and processes.
Skills
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Experience with clock and reset architecture definition or architectural C-models.
- Detailed knowledge of one or more of: PLLs, DLLs, clock-related signal integrity effects, or platform power and reset sequencing.
- Firsthand work experience with reset generation and distribution.
- Automotive functional safety working experience with ISO26262 standard.
Pay
Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is:
- 152,000 USD - 241,500 USD for Level 3.
- 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD for Level 4.
You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
