Principal Senior Data Architect

In this role, you will bridge the gap between robust software development and scalable cloud infrastructure. From writing efficient pipeline code to managing secure distributed databases and deploying infrastructure as code, your contributions will ensure our mission systems run smoothly and efficiently.

Required Skills

• Core Software Development: Strong, hands-on development experience using Java and Python to build scalable applications and distributed data pipelines.
• Big Data Ecosystems: Deep technical experience working with Hadoop frameworks for distributed storage and file processing.
• NoSQL Database Management: Proven experience writing pipelines and optimizing data layers with Accumulo.
• Cloud Infrastructure & IaC: Direct experience developing software within AWS cloud environments combined with provisioning infrastructure via Terraform.

Desired Skills

• Experience managing data serialization and distributed stream processing tools.
• A proactive approach to troubleshooting big data performance bottlenecks and optimizing cloud resources.
• Strong communication skills with a team-first mindset, focused on delivering clear, actionable technical solutions.

Pay, Schedule, Benefits

The annual base salary range for this role is $205,000-$242,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.

Pay

• 4 weeks of Annual Leave plus 11 holidays and an additional day of Annual Leave for each year you’re at the company.
• You have the flexibility to cash out your annual leave hours, opt out of other Nyla benefits, and/or arrange for additional hours on contract* (over 40 hrs/week).
• Option to earn 1.3 times your hourly rate once you work over 1880 hours on contract!

Leave

• Up to 240 hours of leave plus 11 holidays!
• Additional leave can be purchased for a total of 6 weeks of annual leave.
