About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and innovative Principal Scientist to lead the development of therapies to treat hearing loss and vestibular disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of rigorous and appropriate experiments to address core questions of hearing biology, that can drive drug discovery and preclinical programs.
  • Develop and characterize novel animal models to better understand mechanisms of hearing loss and evaluate the potential of novel therapeutics to mitigate hearing phenotypes.
  • Design and execute in vivo and in vitro functional assays to understand the mechanisms of syndromic and non-syndromic hearing loss.
  • Work cross-functionally with a team to develop translationally relevant studies.
  • Carefully analyze and evaluate data.
  • Present data both internally and externally, and participate in discussions in our collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • Independently draft and review protocols and articles for publication.
  • Motivate, develop, and supervise junior scientists, research associates and other trainees.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. with a strong record of innovation and publication and 5+ years of experience.
  • Proven expertise in drug development is required.
  • Managerial experience is highly desirable.
  • In vivo experimental experience is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of human and mouse genetics and/or auditory physiology is an advantage.

Pay

$128,600.00 - $210,000.00 annually
