Principal Sales Engineer, SLED - East

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Sales Engineer, SLED - East to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will partner closely with sales teams and customers across state and local government environments, helping advance technical evaluations and support complex deal cycles. The principal focus will be on translating security and networking capabilities into clear business value for public sector stakeholders. In addition, this person will serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer journey, helping drive confidence, alignment, and successful adoption of modern security architectures.

Responsibilities

• Present and demonstrate the company's platform to prospects and clients
• Oversee the technical sales process to ensure success and accelerate deals
• Conduct Proof of Value engagements to validate outcomes and secure buy-in
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer success
• Act as a trusted advisor to navigate clients' Zero Trust transformation

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in sales engineering or technical sales roles, preferably in cybersecurity or networking
• Demonstrated curiosity about AI and experience integrating new technologies
• Experience in security operations, firewall, proxy operations, and networking
• Strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technical concepts
• US Citizenship required for working with state and local government (SLED) contracts
