About the role
The Robotics Focus Applications (RFAS) Team at Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) is hiring a Principal Robotics Architect (Physical AI & Autonomous Systems) located in the Wilmington Office, MA, USA. This role collaborates closely with RFAS Teams in Italy & Ireland, expanding ADI’s revenue globally in mounted robots, mobile robots, and humanoids.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the RFAS and RSS broader teams to match customer problem statements to ADI solutions, and provide technical guidance and influence.
- Collaborate with technology groups in ADI (vision, precision, sensing, connectivity etc) to understand and position ADI technology differentiation for robotics systems.
- Create and optimize system architectures for robotics solutions.
- Expand ADI domain knowledge in humanoid, mobile, and outdoor robots and trends in these areas.
- Support the development of next-generation product roadmaps for relevant products including connectivity, power, vision, digital and motor control.
- Support local sales and FAEs in deep technical discussions with robotics customers in the USA.
Must Have Skills
- Bachelor's in Engineering (EE/Mechatronics) with 10+ years of experience in a robotics domain.
- Hands-on experience and background in developing and deploying robotics systems.
- Familiarity with humanoid, mobile robotics, collaborative robots, and/or industrial vision technologies (e.g., ToF, IMU, sensor fusion).
- Understanding of robotics and automation systems.
- Experience providing technical guidance.
- Good communicator with strong technical presentation and collateral generation skills.
- Leadership in matrix organizations.
- Excellence in influencing without direct authority.
- Proven success in matrix organizations where outcomes depend on collaboration.
- Ability to guide technical decisions through influence rather than direct control.
- Track record of building consensus across diverse stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills bridging technical and business audiences.
Preferred Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field; Master's or Doctorate preferred.
- Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in product applications engineering, customer technical support, or related roles.
- Less experience may be acceptable with relevant Master's or Doctorate qualifications.
