Principal RF Design Engineer (Onsite)

About the role

The Multi-Domain Assured Navigation and Timing Applications (MANTA) organization within Collins Aerospace is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the development and factory transition of advanced navigation products for the Government market.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of GPS receivers
• Design of circuit card assemblies (CCAs) with RF or mixed signals
• Lab work for component characterization and module verification/integration
• Test and handle sensitive RF hardware
• Schematic capture and RF routing
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including power, digital, mechanical, etc.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree and 5+ years of experience
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Experience with RF design and fabrication
• Experience with RF test and troubleshooting
• Experience with simulation of RF products
• Experience with any of the following tools: Mentor DX Designer or equivalent, HFSS or equivalent, SystemVue/Genesys or equivalent, ADS or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Mentorship or apprenticeship experience
• Technical oversight responsibilities for less-senior engineers
• Architecting and requirements definition for complex RF products
• Designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints
• Yield and margin analysis
• Cascade analysis and/or frequency planning
• Filter design and fabrication
• Scripting experience (Matlab or Python)
