Principal Recruiter
About the role
The Principal Recruiter will support AngelList’s expanding business and strategic hiring goals. The right person will be a creative and adaptable generalist, capable of earning trust and delivering successful hires for key roles across the company. Instead of focusing on a single domain (or even isolating in technical or GTM roles), the Principal Recruiter will operate function-agnostic, and should be comfortable learning about every part of the business, ramping on a broad range of roles, and partnering with all executive team members. It will be a high-impact, high-exposure role, working closely with AngelList’s leadership.
Responsibilities
- Partner with hiring teams to build and execute on strategies to bring the best people into key roles at AngelList
- Lead with data and market intelligence to help drive decisions
- Contribute broadly: this is a role for someone who prides themselves on functional agility and strong business partnership
- Represent and elevate the AngelList talent brand on the market, including how we’re a beacon and who we attract
Requirements
- 8+ years of full lifecycle recruiting experience, including some startup experience
- Ability to thrive and drive consensus and clarity in ambiguous and a fast-moving environments
- An approach that leads with business outcomes over “activity”
- Curiosity to leverage AI tools to automate day-to-day workflows and improve the speed and quality of the hiring process
- Proven track record of success competing for elite talent in a competitive environment, and history of solid relationships in the industry
- Ability to drive process and influence x-functionally to advance the ball despite any obstacles
- Enthusiasm about growth, change, action, and refinement: the market moves quickly and so should you
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role at a tech company
- Strong understanding of the recruiting process from sourcing to onboarding
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of ATS systems and recruiting software
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Experience with AI tools and automation in recruiting

Pay
$200,000+ annually, with actual salary varying based on a number of factors including professional background, experience, and location.
Schedule
A hybrid in-office model: teammates come in at least 2 days per week (Tuesdays and either Wednesday or Thursday).
