Principal Quant Developer

About the role

The Principal Quant Developer will partner with the quant research and investments teams to design, build, enhance, and support a comprehensive portfolio optimization & back testing ecosystem. This individual will collaborate with the team of software engineers and quantitative developers.

Responsibilities

• Leverage industry scale optimization libraries (Matlab, Linear, Gurobi, Cplex, Axioma, SciPy)
• Develop and maintain micro-services / RESTful APIs
• Design and implement highly scalable and low latency systems
• Work on AWS cloud environment and adhere to CI/CD & DevOps practices
• Contribute to system architecture, design patterns, and software engineering fundamentals like OOP, functional programming, and data modeling
• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture requirements and formulate plans
• Influence decisions and engage across Fidelity and at all levels of the organization

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of proven professional experience in financial services (Asset Management experience preferred)
• Experience with Python and micro-services / RESTful APIs
• Experience working on AWS cloud environment and working knowledge of CI/CD & DevOps
• Advanced understanding of data structures
• Proven ability to design highly scalable and low latency systems
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills to influence decisions and engage across Fidelity and at all levels of the organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a computational field such as Computer Science, Master’s degree preferred

• Advanced understanding of portfolio construction and/or portfolio optimization

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $107,000-216,000 USD per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors. Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.

Schedule

Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
