Principal Project Manager, LSP
About the role
The Principal Project Manager and Licensed Site Professional (LSP) will lead the largest, most complex environmental projects and programs for industrial and government clients across New England. This role requires full lifecycle project leadership, stakeholder alignment, and delivery of high-quality, compliant, and profitable outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Leads the largest, highest-risk, and most complex environmental projects and programs, often with multiple concurrent workstreams and stakeholders.
- Defines and governs project scope, schedule, and budget to meet contractual commitments and achieve strong financial performance.
- Develops and executes stakeholder engagement strategies that build trust and align expectations across executive clients, regulators, and community stakeholders.
- Navigates complex stakeholder environments and regulatory frameworks to advance project outcomes.
- Engages stakeholders early (proposal phase) and sustains relationships that drive long-term value and repeat business.
- Serves as a recognized technical authority on MCP and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Led development and execution of regulatory and site closure strategies that are defensible, efficient, and aligned with client objectives.
- Interfaces directly with regulatory agencies on high-visibility and complex sites.
- Builds, leads, and inspires high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams across the organization.
- Mentors Project Managers and technical staff, strengthening project management capability at the local and enterprise level.
- Advocates for and contributes to Weston’s Project Management community of practice.
- Drives profitability and performance across projects by proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and value-creation opportunities.
- Ensures strong financial discipline, including forecasting, invoicing, and receivables management.
- Establishes a culture of safety and quality, consistently achieving high performance in H&S and technical delivery.
- Anticipates complex project challenges and leads teams in developing effective, timely solutions.
- Implements scalable project systems and processes to optimize delivery.
- Promotes Weston’s business development efforts while positioning the company for strategic opportunities.
- Ensures compliance with WESTON operating protocols, business ethics, and procurement/subcontracting requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, geology, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in environmental consulting, site investigation, and remediation.
- 10+ years of experience managing complex environmental projects/programs.
- Current Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional (LSP) in good standing.
- Deep knowledge of MCP and state/federal environmental regulations.
- Demonstrated success leading complex regulatory strategies and site closures.
- Proven ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams on high-risk, high-visibility projects.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influence skills across technical, regulatory, and executive audiences.
- Advanced project management capabilities across scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering strong financial outcomes on complex projects.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license (or ability to obtain) preferred.

Pay
Total compensation will vary based on experience, education, skills, and other compensable factors. Salary Range: $112,914 - $149,506 - $185,994
