RemoteRemoteMarketing$250k–$350k/yrFull-time

We are seeking an exceptional Principal Product Manager to build the HTS API Marketplace — the commercial and developer-facing layer through which enterprise partners access Hopper's lodging and cars capabilities. This is a true 0-to-1 role where you will define how capabilities are packaged, priced, discovered, and integrated, evolving the marketplace into a scalable platform business. The underlying technical capabilities are owned by dedicated teams; your role is to work closely with those PMs to package and commercially expose them as enterprise-grade API products.

Responsibilities

  • Define the HTS API Marketplace: structure, packaging, and pricing across capabilities like HTS Connect, Search Polygons, Autocomplete, Ranking, Content & Property Mapping, Room Mapping, Deduplication/Auction, Pricing, Extranet, Taxes, and Custom Deals Engine.
  • Coordinate with capability PMs to understand roadmaps, constraints, and customization surfaces, translating them into externally consumable API products.
  • Own the commercial model: platform vs. variable fee decisions, take rate structure, enterprise packaging, and custom deals framework for large partners.
  • Build the developer and partner experience from scratch: API specifications, onboarding flows, documentation, sandbox environments, and integration tooling to minimize time-to-first-value.
  • Use AI tools and rapid prototyping to test ideas quickly — mock APIs, prototype partner portals, and simulate pricing/ranking configurations before engineering handoff.
  • Establish the go-to-market motion: identify partners for each capability, sequence launches, and define success metrics for commercial rollouts.
  • Own the marketplace revenue P&L: model and track GBV, take rate, and per-capability unit economics with Finance.
  • Set sequencing and prioritization across all capabilities, from in-progress work to scoping-stage and not-yet-started products.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Product Management experience, with at least one 0-to-1 product built from concept to commercial launch.
  • Experience building developer-facing or B2B marketplace products, including API design, developer experience, and enterprise commercial packaging.
  • AI-native working style: use LLMs and "vibe coding" as first-line tools for prototyping (e.g., demos, mockups, or proof-of-concepts) before engineering handoff.
  • Strong understanding of marketplace economics: take rates, supply/demand optimization, and platform vs. variable commercial models.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple product teams: synthesize roadmaps, surface dependencies, and drive alignment without direct engineering ownership.
  • Experience working with external enterprise partners: translate commercial needs into product requirements and manage expectations through multi-phase rollouts.
  • Fluency with SQL and large-scale transactional or operational datasets.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, including crisp API and product documentation.

Skills

  • Bonus: Experience in travel commerce (lodging, cars, flights) or adjacent industries like fintech, ads, or marketplace infrastructure.
  • Bonus: Background in connectivity, distribution, or supplier technology (GDS, channel managers, OTA APIs).
  • Bonus: Prior experience in Engineering, Data Science, or technical roles.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with auction/deduplication mechanics, dynamic pricing, or recommendation/ranking models.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and pre-IPO equity packages.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Carrot Cash travel stipend.
  • Access to co-working spaces via FlexDesk and a work-from-home stipend.
  • Generous parental leave (above industry standards).
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees.
  • Disability and life insurance.
  • Health Reimbursement Account (HRA).
  • DCA/FSA and 401k plan access.

Pay

Compensation range: $250K - $350K.
