Principal Product Manager - Customer Data Platform
About the role
GEICO is on a multi-year technology transformation journey to reimagine the customer experience in the insurance industry by removing friction across customers, partners, marketplace, segments, and channels. We are looking for an accomplished, customer-obsessed, and results-oriented Principal Product Manager to build and drive our Customer Data Platform (CDP) roadmap. The CDP will enable a single view of our customers by combining multiple data sources to support operational and analytical use cases for sales, claims, servicing, marketing, fraud prevention, and more.
Our vision is to evolve the CDP into the ultimate data experience for product-led growth and business professionals who aren’t comfortable with code. This role is perfect if you enjoy diving into the details with customers, designers, and engineers while also building alignment with senior leadership. With strong executive support for data-driven initiatives, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the CDP’s future and accelerating GEICO’s journey to becoming a data-driven organization.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Management, Servicing, Sales, Fraud, Marketing, and UX teams to understand use cases and segmentation needs.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to translate their data needs into user stories for Data & Analytics, technical, and engineering teams.
- Develop a comprehensive CDP implementation strategy aligned with overall product and customer success goals.
- Identify and onboard new and existing data sources to the CDP.
- Evolve our identity resolution models (deterministic and probabilistic).
- Build and run queries to answer questions, create segments, and enable self-service solutions for CDP users.
- Serve as the CDP subject matter expert, gathering information to create accurate and informative user stories for both business and data teams.
- Deeply understand customer needs to define priorities, inspire the broader team, and deliver best-in-class experiences.
- Build the product roadmap, define user stories, and drive trade-off decisions.
- Identify new products and features on behalf of the customer, leading 1-2 scrum teams to align on mission and deliver results iteratively.
- Leverage qualitative and quantitative data to measure results, inform the roadmap, and achieve benefit, adoption, and financial outcomes.
- Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Engineering, and Business Leaders to drive scalable data solutions.
- Present effectively to high-level stakeholders, set clear priorities and direction, and build bridges across groups.
- Own the product end-to-end by developing business models, defining and analyzing success metrics, and managing strategic projects.
- Champion and educate product managers and lines of business on the capabilities of the GEICO CDP.
- Lead the CDP Squad in achieving strategic outcomes with solutions that are Valuable, Viable, Usable, and Feasible.
- Contribute deep knowledge of customer data integration, identity resolution, and the competitive landscape.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent and related experience.
- 7+ years of proven experience as a Product Manager, with 4+ years in managing Customer Data Platforms.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Graph and Cassandra, ADLS (especially Iceberg), Snowflake, Kafka, Flink, ElasticSearch, and Rosette Name Indexer or equivalent for Identity Resolution, GraphQL.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver results in an iterative development environment.
- 4+ years of experience on a CDP, Reverse ETL, Data Warehouse, or Integration-as-a-Service product.
- Alignment-building expertise—you listen, understand, and influence at a near-executive level.
- Fluency with concepts like unique identifier, API, ETL, etc.
- Data proficiency—you can source, analyze, and present quantitative and qualitative data.
- Excellent writing skills—you write clearly and concisely, favoring plain language over jargon.
- Initiative—you take ownership of problems when next steps aren’t clear.
Preferred Qualifications
- Insurance industry experience is a plus.
- An Engineering background is a plus.
- Experience building Data Platforms.

Pay
Annual Salary: $140,425.00 - $229,600.00. The above range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to determine the final salary, including scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, training, work location, and market/business considerations.
Schedule
This is a hybrid position, requiring on-site presence 2-3 days a week at one of the following locations: Palo Alto, CA; Seattle, WA; Bethesda, MD; Dallas, TX.
