Principal Product Designer, Design Systems

About the role

This role will shape brand and customer engagement initiatives that strengthen market presence and business impact. You will collaborate with analytics, product, creative, and commercial teams to turn market insights into scalable campaigns, testing strategies, and performance improvements. The position offers the opportunity to directly influence customer engagement, conversion performance, and revenue growth within a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Define component architecture and compositional philosophy across the design system
• Design scalable token architecture that adapts to new themes and brand variants
• Develop documentation and governance that operates independently of day-to-day involvement
• Collaborate closely with engineering to align design and tech roadmaps
• Integrate accessibility as a standard across new components and themes
• Own and articulate the design system's roadmap and effectiveness metrics
• Establish a data-driven business case for prioritization and resource allocation

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product design experience with a focus on design systems
• Proven success in defining component and token architecture for a B2B SaaS company
• Experience in governing and scaling enterprise-level design systems
• Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and coding practices for engineering influence
• Expert in defining and communicating design system roadmaps with measurable metrics
• Strong background in accessibility governance aligned with WCAG standards
• Comfort with AI tools for workflow optimization

Pay

$148,000 – $195,000 annually
