About the role

Leads platform projects crossing multiple teams, evolving runtimes or middleware patterns for interoperability and multi-tenant scale. Diagnoses and resolves complex cross-service issues; enforces versioning, compatibility, and safe rollout practices. Drives observability standards, capacity planning, and resilience patterns across several workloads. Produces migration guides and adoption playbooks that raise ecosystem consistency and developer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-team evolution of middleware patterns or runtimes to standardize interoperability at scale.
  • Define and enforce versioning, deprecation, and rollout strategies that minimize downstream breaks.
  • Drive shared observability baselines (SLOs, error budgets) and resilience patterns across several services.
  • Design software solutions and analyze requirements to achieve business and operational goals.
  • Adhere to and improve execution of all phases of the software development lifecycle; provide guidance and coaching to engineers.
  • Develop and guide new software features and enhancements, leading design specifications and ensuring accessibility.
  • Lead code reviews across multiple areas to drive improvements.
  • Conduct debugging and troubleshooting to identify and fix complex software issues.
  • Develop fixes for identified issues.
  • Implement comprehensive software testing (functional and non-functional), quality assurance processes, error logging, monitoring, and observability.
  • Conduct performance profiling and optimization, building scalable solutions and anticipating potential outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to API functionality and integration.
  • Implement complex API versioning, lifecycle, and interoperability strategies.
  • Implement and contribute to developing software, systems, and services.
  • Recommend project or design scope.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to less experienced developers in existing software architecture.
  • Contribute to periodic reviews and ensure adherence to architectural standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and network externally to ensure work aligns with software architecture.
  • Implement complex performance optimization and scalability strategies in software design.
  • Conduct technology research and evaluation for potential architectural changes impacting team results.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer issues and align solutions.
  • Provide advanced technical guidance and support to customers regarding customer-reported issues.
  • Advocate for customers' interests and suggest product enhancements based on feedback.
  • Provide input to ensure customer satisfaction through timely resolution and effective communication.
  • Identify and implement customer issue and defect handling and training processes.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot complex maintenance issues to ensure customer agreement on short- and long-term solutions.
  • Collaborate with the team to follow development practices and coding standards, coaching less experienced members.
  • Participate in peer review processes, provide technical leadership, and ensure code quality and adherence to acceptance criteria.
  • Demonstrate and share advanced knowledge of industry best practices and apply them to software development processes.
  • Implement complex secure coding practices to prevent security vulnerabilities.
  • Perform periodic maintenance and testing operations for systems requiring upgrading or patching.
  • Drive improvements, ensuring automation, testing, and debugging to ensure service/product availability, health, support, and reliability.
  • Manage and coordinate moderately complex tasks, monitoring timelines and deliverables for moderately sized projects.
  • Delegate, monitor, and prioritize work across multiple projects, providing technical oversight and adjusting plans as needed.
  • Collaborate across the organization to align on expectations and achieve shared objectives.
  • Leverage understanding of business leaders, stakeholders, and customers to ensure solutions meet their needs.
  • Support inclusivity by actively seeking and listening to diverse perspectives.
  • Identify and address moderately complex issues by analyzing data and information to find solutions.
  • Proactively escalate unresolved or critical issues with thorough assessment and potential solutions.
  • Review, contribute to, and document problem solving strategies.
  • Pursue learning opportunities to expand knowledge and skills, staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Career Level: IC4

Pay

  • Hiring Range in USD: $104,500 - $234,600 per year
  • May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral
