Principal Partner Technical Strategist
About the role
The Partner Technical Strategist – Principal for the Americas Channel will serve as the central technical leader responsible for technical engagement across Sellers in the PTC Partner Ecosystem in the Americas. This role focuses on building centralized, repeatable, and scalable processes and tools designed to address channel partner technical needs at scale.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Americas-wide technical point of contact for Channel partners, PTC Channel Account Managers and PTC Partner Managers.
- Provide clarity and visibility into partner technical requests, who is supporting them, and the status of ongoing engagements.
- Ensure requests map to expectations of Partners within the PTC Partner Network program and all associated guides and agreements.
- Owning end-to-end for each discrete Partner Request, starting at qualifying the request to ensure the right mix and quantity of PTC resources are leveraged, and then running our closed loop process to ensure incremental improvement in future requests.
- Act as the consistent technical voice of PTC to partners, evangelizing PTC technical content, product capabilities, and best practices.
- Respond to partner questions related to PTC solutions, APIs, deployment, or SaaS practices, serving as their trusted technical advisor.
- Guide partners through presale technical evaluation by validating architectures, solution designs, and feasibility.
- Lead consistent coordination with Customer Success to align partner technical requests with account planning, adoption motions, and customer-centric success criteria.
- Collaborate with Product Management and R&D to obtain clarity on complex technical inquiries, escalate issues, and bring back guidance for partners.
- Evaluate partner readiness and maturity, including architecture capabilities, team depth, and technical gaps. Recommend training, certifications, and enablement paths that support partner roles and solution areas.
- Ensure partner-built solutions or integrations align with Windchill+ and other PTC architecture standards and SaaS guardrails.
- Establish a unified process and toolset for logging, routing, and tracking partner technical requests across the Americas.
- Provide reporting and insights to leadership on partner support load, recurring issues, maturity trends, and capacity requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement of the Channel technical motion to scale with growing partner demand.
- Promote new PTC product features, tools, and technical documentation to partners, ensuring they stay informed on changes and opportunities.
- Serve as a thought leader capable of presenting to partner executives, technical stakeholders, and PTC leadership.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of PTC’s solutions and the wider partner ecosystem including Channel, GSI, Hyperscalers, and ISVs.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS technologies.
- Ability to work across incomplete information and drive alignment among diverse stakeholders.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation abilities suited for partner and senior-level audiences.
- Highly organized with strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years in customer or partner-facing technical roles.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering.
- Fully fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 25% within the Americas region.

PTC carefully considers a wide range of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $150,000 - $170,000. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
