About the role

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking an experienced Principal Program Manager to lead end‑to‑end New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Lifecycle Management programs supporting OCI’s rapidly expanding cloud infrastructure portfolio. Reporting to the Director or Senior Director of Supply Chain Operations, this individual contributor will own the operational execution of complex hardware programs from concept through production ramp, sustaining engineering, and end‑of‑life. The role coordinates globally distributed teams across Product Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, Procurement, and Data Center Operations to ensure successful product launches and lifecycle execution.

Responsibilities

  • New Product Introduction (NPI) Program Leadership
    • Own end‑to‑end operational execution for complex NPI programs supporting OCI hardware and infrastructure products.
    • Develop integrated program plans that align engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, and deployment organizations.
    • Identify technical risks and dependencies that could impact launch schedule.
    • Participate in technology and product roadmap reviews, technical design discussions, and complex hardware design issues with sufficient technical depth to challenge assumptions, identify risks, and drive resolution.
    • Ensure test infrastructure, test code, and production tooling are available to support manufacturing builds for launch.
    • Drive all NPI phase‑gate and exit criteria to ensure operational readiness before launch.
    • Coordinate global cross‑functional teams to deliver successful product launches while balancing cost, schedule, quality, and supply continuity.
    • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for assigned NPI programs.
  • Program Execution & Change Management
    • Align Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Engineering throughout product builds and production ramps.
    • Coordinate manufacturing readiness, material availability, production schedules, budgets, and deployment planning.
    • Investigate technical issues and operational risk that could impact product release or revenue on sustaining programs.
    • Proactively identify program risks, assess operational impacts, and drive mitigation strategies across engineering and supply chain organizations.
    • Ensure engineering changes, schedule adjustments, and operational decisions are effectively communicated and executed.
    • Support compliance with internal governance processes and operational readiness requirements.
  • Governance & Program Management
    • Develop and manage detailed program schedules, milestones, dependencies, and risk registers.
    • Facilitate cross‑functional readiness reviews and phase‑gate meetings.
    • Track program health using metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
    • Drive issue resolution by coordinating stakeholders across multiple organizations.
    • Ensure launch criteria and operational readiness requirements are successfully achieved prior to production release.
  • Product Lifecycle Management
    • Manage products beyond initial launch through sustaining engineering, lifecycle planning, and end‑of‑life activities.
    • Coordinate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), product revisions, supplier transitions, and manufacturing updates.
    • Lead stop‑ship actions and long‑term corrective actions, including root‑cause analysis and remediation.
    • Identify and resolve technical and operational blockers affecting manufacturing and test.
    • Partner with Engineering and Supply Chain to qualify alternate sources and reduce supply risk.
    • Lead operational planning for hardware product release, inventory disposition, product transitions, and end‑of‑life execution.
    • Support continuous improvement of lifecycle management processes and operational governance.
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership
    • Partner closely with Product Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Planning, Procurement, Quality, Logistics, and Data Center Operations.
    • Influence technical and operational decisions that improve manufacturability, scalability, quality, and deployment readiness.
    • Build trusted relationships across engineering and operations teams to drive alignment without direct management authority.
    • Provide program leadership and cross‑team validation across globally distributed organizations.
  • Executive Communication
    • Develop concise executive‑level status reports highlighting program health, key milestones, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
    • Present recommendations and trade‑offs to senior leadership to support timely decision‑making.
    • Simplify complex technical and operational issues into actionable business updates.
    • Maintain clear communication throughout all phases of program execution.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to improve NPI execution, governance, operational readiness, and lifecycle management processes.
    • Develop standardized tools, templates, dashboards, and best practices supporting scalable program execution.
    • Leverage AI and automation tools, where appropriate, to streamline workflows, improve reporting, and enhance decision‑making.
    • Lead technical root‑cause analysis for operational issues and drive lessons learned and post‑launch reviews.
    • Promote operational excellence through process optimization and data‑driven decision making.
