Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality scientific content for print and event deliverables targeted toward healthcare professionals that is aligned with the strategic objectives of the activity.
- Perform extensive literature reviews on various disease states, therapeutic advancements, and clinical data.
- Adhere to appropriate reference and annotation standards and resolve fact-check queries, ensuring clinical accuracy of all content.
- Review and edit content at multiple stages for consistency, accuracy, relevance, and adherence to style guidelines.
- Independently address and incorporate feedback from clients, peer reviewers, and/or faculty authors throughout the content development process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, clients, and key opinion leaders.
- Assign tasks to internal writers and freelancers, managing workflow and reassigning tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with project management and creative services to ensure that revisions and appropriate changes are addressed within the scope of the project.
- Prepare materials for pharmaceutical promotional review processes, ensuring compliance with submission requirements.
- Revise content as needed through its internal and external reviews during the project lifecycle, adhering to medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) review process requirements.
- Attend live events such as consensus meetings and professional conferences to capture key content for project deliverables.
- Produce high-quality executive summaries and/or manuscripts based on event coverage.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, MS) in a healthcare-related field (life sciences, biomedical sciences) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience at a medical communications agency or company.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, manage multiple timelines, and solve problems effectively.
- Proficiency in AMA style and in-house editorial standards.
- Ability to travel for events/meetings (1-3 days quarterly on average).
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation Range: $95,000 – $105,000 per year, depending on qualifications.
