What The Principal Market Analyst Does

  • Lead business analytics for the commercial organization, including tracking pipeline, hit rate, win rate, repeat and new business, and average deal size
  • Track and manage margin analysis of awarded work to support decision-making regarding pricing of new business
  • Audit and deploy new tools and technologies to support the commercial organization (e.g., MatchMyEmail)
  • Oversee the evolution, management, and implementation of Salesforce
  • As a key partner to the Chief Commercial Officer in the development of global sales targets (both bottom-up and top-down)
  • Conduct continual review and assessment of market trends, including planned and predicted trials, trial starts, and funding markets
  • Liaise with other market analysts (e.g., Jefferies) to stay abreast of market trends affecting corporate growth
  • Support the commercial team with bid defense preparation related to market competition for clinical trials
  • Collaborate with all functional areas on key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytic dashboards required in Power BI
  • Promote commercial trends related to win rates and margin
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience leading and supporting initiatives
Demonstrated experience with business case development and strategic thinking
Proven ability to influence across a matrix-managed environment
Experience developing content for capabilities overviews
Demonstrated experience with KPIs, preferably in sales
Ability to meet deadlines and flexibility to work outside of normal working hours
Customer-oriented mindset
Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate effectively via phone and in writing with a high degree of professionalism
Metrics-driven and goal-oriented with strong attention to detail
Strong networking skills and ability to build rapport
Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to new demands with a strong sense of urgency
Demonstrated project management experience
Experience presenting to senior leadership
Experience researching and providing industry and customer intelligence from key sources, specifically BioPharm Insight

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business; Master of Business Administration (MBA) required
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant analysis experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of direct experience within the Contract Research Organization (CRO) or pharmaceutical industry
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Pay

The salary range for this position is annually:

  • United States of America - $146,500.00 - $291,500.00
