About the role

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Logistics Engineer (Level 2) or Principal Logistics Engineer (Level 3) to join our team at Whiteman AFB, Missouri, the only operational base of the B-2 Stealth Bomber. This role supports the installation of capability upgrades and support efforts on the B-2 Stealth Bomber fleet.

As a logistics engineer, you will work with a highly experienced team to develop an understanding of aircraft systems, subsystems, and integration. This position may require occasional shift work and extended hours to support testing requirements and meet aircraft delivery timelines. An active U.S. Government security clearance (SAP) is required for start; U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Review field support requirements and recommend tool and test equipment.
• Develop and review logistics support, evaluate modifications to the aircraft, and assess aircraft-specific changes or configurations.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure configuration changes are addressed in maintenance technical orders (T.O.).
• Act as a focal point for documenting actions, ensuring accurate documentation of installed parts in MES and IMDS, and researching historical records.
• Assess future modifications, logistics and equipment requirements, and proposal development.
• Work in a classified environment; personal electronic devices are prohibited in these areas.

Qualifications

Logistics Engineer (Level 2):

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with five (5) years of aerospace industry experience; or Master’s Degree with three (3) years of aerospace industry experience; or PhD with 0 years of experience or 9 years of aerospace industry experience in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is required).
• Ability to obtain Program Access within a reasonable timeframe.

Principal Logistics Engineer (Level 3):

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with at least two (2) years of aerospace industry experience; or zero (0) years of experience with a Master’s Degree or 6 years of aerospace industry experience in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is required).
• Ability to obtain Program Access within a reasonable timeframe.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous aircraft maintenance experience.
• Experience using IMDS and Air Force T.O.s.
• Active DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
• STEM Degree.

Pay

Primary Level (Logistics Engineer) Salary Range: $56,500.00 - $84,700.00
Secondary Level (Principal Logistics Engineer) Salary Range: $70,100.00 - $105,100.00

The salary range represents a general guideline; actual offers consider the scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Vice Presidents or Directors may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

About the Program

The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. It provides transitioning service members with fellowship-style job skills training during the last 6 months of their military commitment (up to 180 days). Participants receive military compensation and benefits while interning and are not eligible for Northrop Grumman compensation.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Served at least 180 days on active duty.
• Within 12 months of separation or retirement.
• Will receive an honorable discharge.
• Completed any service TAPS/TGPS.
• Attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months.
• Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program prior to the start of the internship.

Program Goals:

• Provide transitioning service members with job skills training that may lead to full-time employment.
• Serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into Northrop Grumman.

Program Objectives:

• Prepare interns for Day 1 readiness to meet Northrop Grumman’s mission through professional development, networking, and training on leadership principles, company history, customer engagement, and core job responsibilities.
