This position is based at Whiteman AFB, Missouri and requires an active U.S. Government security clearance (SAP). U.S. citizenship is required. Relocation assistance is not available. Travel is expected up to 10% of the time.
About the Role
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Logistics Engineer (Level 2) or Principal Logistics Engineer (Level 3) to join our team supporting the B-2 Stealth Bomber fleet at Whiteman AFB. As a logistics engineer, you will work with a highly experienced team to develop expertise in aircraft systems, subsystems, and integration. This role involves reviewing field support requirements, recommending tools and test equipment, developing and reviewing logistics support, evaluating aircraft modifications, and assessing configuration changes.
You will coordinate with other disciplines to ensure configuration changes are documented in maintenance technical orders (T.O.). You will also serve as a focal point for documenting actions, ensuring accurate records in MES and IMDS, and researching historical data. Additionally, you will contribute to assessing future modifications, logistics requirements, and proposal development.
This position may require occasional shift work, extended hours, and the ability to work in a classified environment where personal electronic devices are prohibited. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment involving both Northrop Grumman and military personnel.
Responsibilities
- Review field support requirements and recommend tool and test equipment.
- Develop and review logistics support for aircraft systems and subsystems.
- Evaluate modifications to the aircraft and assess configuration changes.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure configuration changes are addressed in maintenance technical orders (T.O.).
- Document actions and ensure accurate records of installed parts in MES and IMDS.
- Research historical records and support future modification assessments.
- Contribute to logistics and equipment requirements and proposal development.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (SAP).
- Ability to obtain Program Access within a reasonable timeframe as determined by the company.
- Comfort working in a classified environment with restricted access to personal electronic devices.
Qualifications
Logistics Engineer (Level 2)
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with five (5) years of aerospace industry experience; or
- Master’s Degree with three (3) years of aerospace industry experience; or
- PhD with 0 years of experience; or
- Nine (9) years of aerospace industry experience in lieu of a degree.
Principal Logistics Engineer (Level 3)
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with at least two (2) years of aerospace industry experience; or
- Zero (0) years of experience with a Master’s Degree; or
- Six (6) years of aerospace industry experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous aircraft maintenance experience.
- Experience using IMDS and Air Force T.O.s.
- Active DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
- STEM Degree.
Pay
Primary Level (Logistics Engineer) Salary Range: $56,500.00 - $84,700.00
Secondary Level (Principal Logistics Engineer) Salary Range: $70,100.00 - $105,100.00
The salary range represents a general guideline. Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
