Principal Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal counsel for labor, employment, compensation, and benefits issues
• Advises on the design and compliance of compensation programs and tax regulations
• Act as legal contact for Talent Acquisition on hiring practices and compliance
• Support Talent Culture & Total Rewards on leaves, accommodations, and benefits compliance
• Advise on labor strategy and employer communications
• Manage employment litigation strategy and outside counsel relationships
• Develop and maintain enterprise-wide employment policies and training programs
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise leadership on compliance and strategy

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with active bar membership (preferably Washington State)
• 12+ years legal experience, with significant law firm and in-house exposure
• Expertise in federal and state employment laws, including Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA
• Experience advising on compensation matters and ERISA-governed benefit plans
• Proven ability to manage complex employment litigations and counsel relationships
• Experience advising senior HR leadership on sensitive employment matters
• Exceptional communication skills for conveying complex legal issues to executives
• Strong business acumen in a fast-paced environment

Pay

$230,773 – $323,081 annually
