This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen responsible execution, improve decision-making, and support sustainable growth within a Aerospace & Defense environment.
Location: Seattle, WA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available. Compensation: $230,773 – $323,081 annually.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic counsel on labor, employment, compensation, and benefits matters
- Advise on compensation program design and ensure compliance with regulations
- Act as legal contact for Talent Acquisition regarding hiring practices and immigration
- Support Talent Culture & Total Rewards teams on benefits and ERISA compliance
- Advise on legal strategy for labor communications and employer interactions
- Manage employment litigation strategies and budget for outside counsel
- Develop and maintain enterprise-wide employment policies and training programs
- Monitor legislative changes and advise on compliance and strategic implications
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing (preferably Washington State)
- 12+ years of legal experience, ideally in both law firm and in-house settings
- Expertise in federal and state employment laws such as Title VII, ADEA, and FMLA
- Significant experience with compensation matters, focusing on fairness
- Substantial background in ERISA-regulated benefit plans
- Proficient in managing complex employment litigation and overseeing outside counsel
- Experience advising senior HR leaders on sensitive workforce issues
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present legal concepts to executives
