What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour live workshops on life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) with K-8 students covering topics such as public speaking and concentration, utilizing Alpha's established playbook.
- Conducting daily motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of students achieve their weekly application-based goals through age-appropriate methods including school currency systems and leaderboards.
- Developing Guides via direct observation, focused feedback, and practical coaching to ensure they execute workshops with equivalent energy and accuracy.
- Analyzing Coachbot data and individual student records to pinpoint students requiring intervention, then providing that intervention directly.
- Mentoring your designated student cohort, demonstrating the coaching and motivational techniques you require from all Guides.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum. Students progress through adaptive applications; your role is elevating the people who support them.
- Delivering traditional classroom lectures. You're 80% performer, 20% content expert; if your preference is working at a whiteboard, this role isn't the right fit.
- Compromising standards due to pressure from parents or administrators. When a student achieves 99%, the response is "not yet" — and you'll have full organizational support to maintain that standard.
- Spending your day in an office managing paperwork. The majority of your time involves direct interaction with students and Guides.
- Waiting extended periods for performance feedback. Results appear in real-time through Coachbot and adjustments occur immediately.
