Principal Learning Consultant, Alpha - $200,000/year USD

Crossover · Stamford, CT · 1 wk ago
Management$200k/yrFull-time

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour live workshops on life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) with K-8 students covering topics such as public speaking and concentration, utilizing Alpha's established playbook
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of students achieve their weekly application-based goals through age-appropriate methods including school currency systems and leaderboards
  • Developing Guides via direct observation, focused feedback, and practical coaching to ensure they execute workshops with equivalent energy and accuracy
  • Analyzing Coachbot data and individual student records to pinpoint students requiring intervention, then providing that intervention directly
  • Mentoring your designated student cohort, demonstrating the coaching and motivational techniques you require from all Guides

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum. Students progress through adaptive applications; your role is elevating the people who support them.
  • Delivering traditional classroom lectures. You're 80% performer, 20% content expert; if your preference is working at a whiteboard, this role isn't the right fit.
  • Compromising standards due to pressure from parents or administrators. When a student achieves 99%, the response is "not yet" — and you'll have full organizational support to maintain that standard.
  • Spending your day in an office managing paperwork. The majority of your time involves direct interaction with students and Guides.
  • Waiting extended periods for performance feedback. Results appear in real-time through Coachbot and adjustments occur immediately.

  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing educational programs, curricula, or training initiatives
  • Proven history of managing a team of 5 or more individuals, including recruitment and performance-based termination decisions
  • Demonstrated ability coaching, mentoring, or delivering constructive feedback to enhance engagement and performance
  • Strong capability using data and metrics to inform decisions and foster continuous improvement
  • Background working with young people ages 5–14 in educational or developmental contexts
  • Strong capability using data and metrics to inform decisions and foster continuous improvement

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education, Psychology, or Business
  • Experience as an athletic coach, camp director, or youth program leader where you directly inspired young people to achieve measurable objectives
