Principal IT Enterprise Architect - CPQ & Pricing

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Principal IT Architect – CPQ & Pricing to lead the architecture strategy and design of our enterprise finance technology landscape. This role serves as the technical authority for all CPQ & Pricing related IT systems including SAP CPQ, Pros Pricing, and ERP VC setups. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the CPQ domain, a strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, and a proven track record of delivering scalable, resilient solutions in complex, global environments. You will report directly to our Director of IT Enterprise Architecture and work out of our Charlotte, NC location on a hybrid work schedule.

For the first 90 days, new hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Strategy
  • Define, own, and evolve the enterprise architecture roadmap for CPQ and Pricing IT systems, ensuring alignment with business strategy and technology best practices.
  • Lead end-to-end solution architecture across commercial technologies with a primary focus on CPQ and Pricing.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies that drive efficiency, compliance, and innovation across finance functions.
  • Establish architecture governance standards, design principles, and guardrails for the finance technology domain.
• CPQ/Pricing Leadership
  • Serve as the principal architect for CPQ & Pricing with deep, hands-on experience across core modules including SAP CPQ, PROS Pricing, and SAP Variant Configuration.
  • Lead full-cycle SAP CPQ and Pricing implementations from the architect side and identify opportunities for technology solution and performance improvements.
  • Architect and govern the design, ensuring alignment with GDM owners.
  • Define integration architecture between SAP CPQ, Salesforce, and ERP systems.
  • Drive adoption of SAP CPQ and actively work on technology/implementation changes to improve performance.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
  • Act as a trusted advisor to commercial and business leadership, translating complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
  • Mentor and guide a team of solution architects, technical leads, and engineers within the CPQ and Pricing technology domain.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, security architects, and data architects to ensure coherent cross-domain solutions.
  • Engage with third-party vendors, system integrators, and SAP directly to evaluate solutions and manage architectural risks.

Requirements

You must have:

• 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in an architecture role focused on SAP CPQ and Pricing systems.
• 5+ years of hands-on SAP CPQ (preferred) or any other CPQ solution as a solution architect.
• Knowledge of PROS Pricing, SAP Pricing setup, or related technologies (advantageous).
