Responsibilities
- Provide scientific leadership and strategic oversight for systematic evidence mapping, scoping reviews, systematic reviews, and evidence synthesis activities supporting health hazard assessments.
- Direct multidisciplinary teams of scientists, analysts, and technical experts in the planning, execution, and quality assurance of literature review and evidence evaluation projects.
- Ensure scientific rigor, methodological consistency, and regulatory compliance in study screening, data extraction, quality assessment, and evidence integration processes.
- Lead the development, review, and approval of Technical Reports, Toxicity Reports, DART Reports, Immunotoxicity Reports, Research Reports, and other scientific publications.
- Oversee the application of innovative informatics solutions, including AI-enabled, machine learning, and natural language processing tools, to enhance systematic review efficiency and transparency.
- Serve as the primary scientific liaison with clients, federal partners, advisory groups, expert consultants, and external peer reviewers to facilitate stakeholder engagement and consensus building.
- Guide the identification, recruitment, and management of scientific subject matter experts across toxicology, epidemiology, pathology, exposure assessment, and related disciplines.
- Provide overall program and project management oversight, including resource allocation, risk management, schedule adherence, quality control, and delivery of contract objectives and reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree + 15 years of relevant experience or PhD + 10 years of relevant experience.
- Degrees in Toxicology (Toxicologists with a DABT certification), Epidemiology, Environmental Health, Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience leading complex scientific research, systematic reviews, evidence synthesis, or health hazard assessment programs for federal agencies, research institutions, or similar organizations.
- Demonstrated expertise in systematic review methodologies, evidence evaluation frameworks, study quality assessment, and scientific data interpretation in environmental health or toxicology-related fields.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and large-scale research programs, including oversight of budgets, schedules, deliverables, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong track record of scientific publication, technical report development, peer review management, and communication of complex scientific findings to diverse audiences.
- Experience applying advanced informatics and AI-enabled approaches, including machine learning, natural language processing, literature review automation tools, and data visualization technologies to support evidence-based decision-making.

Pay
This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $169,000 to $200,000, which may vary by up to ten percent depending on candidate geographic location.
