About the role
The Principal Instrument Technician supports customer needs by providing technical services such as equipment calibration, maintenance, and repair. This role involves servicing and repairing a variety of analytical equipment, including gas analyzers, and performing data entry tasks.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to customers in the field.
- Serve and repair equipment requiring electrical and mechanical skills.
- Calibrate and maintain analytical equipment.
- Perform data entry and database maintenance for tracking equipment rentals, calibrations, and inventory.
- Work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Adhere to all safety requirements, safety compliance.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a laboratory or equivalent environment.
- Hands-on experience working with gases, chemicals, and analytical equipment.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Qualifications
- Producing and interpreting equipment drawings and manuals.
- Ability to custom build and retrofit equipment.
- Safe and proficient use of hand and power tools.
- Applying electricity and electronics theory to repair and rebuild equipment.
- Computer hardware and software applications including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Skills
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Adhere to all safety requirements, safety compliance.
