About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated educator to join our team as a High School Mathematics Teacher. This role is essential in fostering a positive learning environment and delivering high-quality instruction to students in grades 9-12. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach mathematics courses to high school students, including Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and national standards.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and projects.
  • Provide individualized support to students who need additional help.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administrators to improve curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices.
  • Supervise students during class, study halls, and school events as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an endorsement in Mathematics (Secondary).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience teaching high school mathematics.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
