About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated educator to join our team as a High School Mathematics Teacher. This role is essential in fostering a positive learning environment and delivering high-quality instruction to students in grades 9-12. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach mathematics courses to high school students, including Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and national standards.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and projects.
- Provide individualized support to students who need additional help.
- Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administrators to improve curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices.
- Supervise students during class, study halls, and school events as needed.
Requirements
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an endorsement in Mathematics (Secondary).
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Demonstrated experience teaching high school mathematics.
- Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
