About the Role

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Principal Global Supply Chain Planner to join our Supply Chain Operations team. This position will be responsible for data-driven planning, inventory optimization, and management of the global supply chain. This role ensures proper service, inventory, and cost by leveraging analytics, improving planning processes, and partnering cross-functionally throughout the organization. In addition, this role will perform Supply Chain/Operations analytics for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Supply and inventory planning
    • Own and lead the development of global supply and inventory planning strategies across reagents, instruments, and consumables, translating demand forecasts into optimized supply plans that support business growth, customer service, and financial objectives.
    • Serve as the subject matter expert for inventory strategy and planning, establishing and continuously optimizing planning parameters including safety stock, reorder points, lot sizes, lead times, service levels, and inventory targets.
    • Develop and implement strategies to balance customer service, working capital, supply continuity, and scrap/obsolescence risk, using data-driven analysis to identify opportunities and drive measurable improvements.
    • Lead the analysis of demand and supply variability and translate insights into improvements to planning models, ERP parameters, and business processes.
    • Own and continuously improve the supply planning model, currently Excel-driven, and establish best practices for integrating planning outputs with ERP/MRP systems.
    • Lead production and procurement planning activities to ensure material availability and continuity of supply while optimizing inventory investment and manufacturing capacity.
    • Develop and maintain integrated supply plans that align demand, inventory, production capacity, material availability, lead times, and customer requirements.
    • Own the creation and optimization of production and kitting schedules, including work order planning, prioritization, and sequencing in partnership with Manufacturing and Operations.
    • Identify capacity, material, inventory, and supply constraints; develop scenarios and recommendations; and drive cross-functional resolution of supply risks.
    • Provide strategic input and recommendations for make/buy decisions, inventory positioning, lot sizing, production strategies, and supply continuity.
    • Maintain and improve bills of materials and related planning master data within the ERP system as needed, ensuring data integrity supports accurate planning and execution.
  • Data & Analytics
    • Lead advanced analysis of historical demand, shipment trends, and forecast performance to predict inventory levels and identify risks and opportunities in the global supply chain plan.
    • Develop and maintain planning analytics and dashboards to measure performance (KPI) indicators such as on-time delivery in full, safety stock performance, backorder, and cycle time.
    • Develop forward-looking analytics and scenario models to assess the impact of demand changes, supply constraints, capacity limitations, lead-time changes, and inventory strategies.
    • Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional collaboration
    • Serve as a key planning leader within the S&OP process, developing supply scenarios, identifying gaps between demand and supply, and providing recommendations to leadership to support business decisions.
    • Partner closely with Commercial, Finance, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and Operations to align demand, supply, inventory, capacity, and financial objectives.
    • Lead cross-functional reviews of supply constraints, inventory risks, production priorities, and customer requirements, ensuring issues are proactively identified and resolved.
    • Establish clear escalation processes for supply chain risks and lead cross-functional teams toward timely, data-driven solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, or inventory management.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel (required); experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Syteline, Netsuite, Oracle).
  • Demonstrated expertise developing and implementing global supply and inventory planning strategies.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
  • Knowledge of supply chain concepts (forecasting, safety stock, lead times, service levels).
