The Principal General Accounting Process Steward supports the Global Process Leader (GPL) in advancing Account to Reporting (ATR) process improvements and transformation initiatives across global general ledger accounting processes. This role serves as a subject matter expert for assigned accounting processes, helping to identify improvement opportunities, support implementation of standardized solutions and promote operational excellence across the organization. The Process Steward collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to improve process effectiveness, supports change initiatives and helps maintain global process standards. This position requires strong general ledger accounting knowledge, analytical skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across a global organization.

Work Model, Sponsorship, Relocation

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Support the Global Process Leader in maintaining and improving global general ledger accounting processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, period-end close and related controls.
  • Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization and effectiveness.
  • Assist with developing, documenting and maintaining global process designs and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with regional and functional teams to support implementation of process improvements and best practices.
  • Participate in transformation initiatives and projects that support the Account to Reporting roadmap.
  • Evaluate business requirements and recommend practical process solutions aligned with global standards.
  • Support process governance activities by tracking issues, documenting risks and assisting with resolution efforts.
  • Collaborate with Finance Process Stewards and business partners to address process challenges and share best practices.
  • Utilize SAP, Cadency and other financial systems to support process improvements and operational excellence.
  • Assist in developing process metrics and monitoring performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare analyses, presentations and project updates for leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Support change management activities by promoting adoption of new processes and standards.
  • Participate in benchmarking and continuous improvement initiatives across the global finance organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in progressive accounting, including experience in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries and period-end close.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and Account to Reporting (ATR) processes.
  • Experience supporting business process improvement or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls and SOX compliance.
  • Experience analyzing business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other Boston Scientific locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CMA or other relevant professional certification.
  • Experience supporting finance transformation or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Experience with Cadency or similar financial close applications.
  • Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience working in a multinational organization.

Compensation

Minimum Salary: $102,100. Maximum Salary: $194,000. The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com – will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
